The Chancel Choir sings everything from classical to gospel and even swing anthems at the 9:00 am service. It works hard to bring new meaning to the music in worship, often coordinating the music selection with the theme of that morning’s worship service. The choir participates in community church choir sings like the Thanksgiving, Good Friday, and ECHO His Love services, too. New members are always welcome. Director Joy Smith
The Praise Team has the responsibility of leading God’s people in praise and worship at 11:00 am. They offer their gifts and talents to be used by God and feel blessed by doing so. This contemporary, instrumental musical group enjoys bringing in some of the newest praise songs while also retaining many longtime favorite songs. They love using their gifts of music and enjoy each other’s company.
Practice is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Information and auditions are available by contacting Carrie Selbee via email
Bells of Praise
Bells of Praise is the Manistee United Methodist Church’s hand bell choir. They ring five octaves of Malmark Hand bells and four octaves of hand chimes. They meet weekly and play at both services approximately every six weeks. The goal of the group is to express love of God through their music and to enhance the worship service with their musical offerings. The group has also played at weddings, community events, and for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign. New members are welcomed enthusiastically...no prior experience necessary!
